The purpose of this blog is to document my journey into the world of entertainment. I grew up in the LA area and have been working in film the last six years. Really, I started writing years ago and it turned into producing more and more. I love to write but I am naturally good at producing. I have never been to film school or business school. Six months ago I moved to Chicago, the short version is I lost everything and had to start over. Since I have been here I have gotten and internship at a small production company and have done my first negotiation to be a producing representitive for the documentary. I can't talk about that yet, in detail atleast because I don't want to jinx it. I made my counter offer, and well I am waiting to hear back. It's the new year in two days, 365 days from now I will do everything I can too have ackomplished at least one of the following. 1. Be a paid producer on a feature film. 2. Get paid for something I wrote 3. Recieve an award for something I created or helped create.
The point is recognition(measurable success) in some aspect of the industry. I've always said your always two meetings away from the money. One meeting to meet the guy who will take you too the guy who will give you the money. I feel like that point in my journey, I am talking to the guy who is going to take me to the guy who has the money.
